Conventional Inline Inspection (ILI) Services

Our conventional in-line inspection (ILI) pigging tools deliver anomaly detection and sizing by integrating ultra-high-resolution triaxial sensor technology with advanced signal processing. This robust coverage ensures pipeline operators and integrity engineers can proactively address threats such as pitting, general corrosion, and dent-to-weld interactions.

  • 3” – 36” Geometry: Caliper logs identify ovalities, dents, and geometric anomalies, correlating data with potential stress risers.
  • 3” – 36” MFL/Geo Combo: Magnetic Flux Leakage data, combined with geometry readings, offers dual-layer detection of corrosion and mechanical deformation.
  • 3” – 36” IMU: Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) accurately map pipeline routes and detect bending strains, aiding in precise alignment sheet updates and robust dig programs.
  • Variable Speed Control: Supports high-velocity gas lines by maintaining stable magnetization profiles and sensor contact.

Tethered Inline Inspection (ILI) Services

For pipelines with unidirectional flow constraints, short segments, or limited launcher/receiver infrastructure, MISTRAS' tethered pigging inspections provide scalable, cost-effective solutions. Tethered inspections provide the flexibility needed to ensure data quality in pipelines that cannot accommodate traditional pigging runs or have atypical flow conditions.

  • Ultra-High-Res Triaxial Sensor Technology: Delivers detailed axial and circumferential resolution, capturing subtle material loss.
  • 3” – 18” Bi-directional (Bidi) Geometry & 3” – 18” Bidi Combo w/IMU: Suited for bidirectional segments, capturing both geometric and MFL data along with accurate positional references.
  • 3” – 36” Unidirectional: Targets larger-diameter segments using a single pass, minimizing operational interruptions.
  • Wireline and Synthetic Rope: Facilitates deployment in challenging or remote locations.

TriStream MFL Services

MISTRAS Group’s TriStream MFL™ is an ultra-high-resolution inline inspection (ILI) tool designed to detect internal and external corrosion morphologies. By measuring magnetic flux leakage (MFL) in multiple vectors—axial, radial, and circumferential—this innovative solution provides a more comprehensive view of metal loss, deformation, and overall pipeline health than standard single- or dual-vector tools. TriStream MFL also integrates caliper and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) data, helping operators gain a complete picture of pipeline anomalies and positioning in one pass.

ART Crawler Pipeline Inspection Services

The Automated Radiographic Testing (ART) Crawler inspects both insulated and non-insulated pipelines (4” – 60”), with detection thresholds as low as 10% wall loss. This technique significantly streamlines Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) and internal corrosion assessments by eliminating the labor- and cost-intensive needs to remove insulation or product from the line, yielding faster turnaround for large-scale screening.
