MISTRAS Group, Inc. Acquires Semiray Inspection Services

Princeton Junction, NJ - April, 2017 - MISTRAS Group, Inc. is pleased to announce the acquisition of Semiray Inspection Services. Semiray is a nondestructive testing (NDT), chemical, and special process service provider based out of Phoenix, Arizona. The company will now operate in name and as part of MISTRAS Arizona Services, a subsidiary of MISTRAS Group, Inc. During the transition period, Semiray will maintain its existing administrative structure, location, and personnel.

Semiray operates in the aerospace, military, electronics, and commercial manufacturing industries. The company is a Level III ASNT-certified NDT services provider, offering penetrant inspection and magnetic particle inspection methods. Semiray’s chemical process services include chemical cleaning, coating application, painting, and pressure testing. The company also offers value-added special process services, a form of quality assurance for certain aerospace manufacturing processes that require additional validation.

Semiray is Nadcap-accredited and holds approvals from various aerospace prime manufacturers, including Boeing, General Electric, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, and several other major aerospace corporations.

“The acquisition of Semiray strengthens MISTRAS’ presence in the southwestern United States, allowing us to further tap into the region’s customer base,” said Mike Lange, Vice Chairman and Senior Group Executive Vice President of Global Business Development, Marketing & Strategic Planning.

“We are excited to provide value to the MISTRAS organization through our expertise in a profitable aerospace market,” said Frank Encinas, founder of Semiray.
