Princeton Junction, NJ – August 2009 – MISTRAS Group, Inc. announces the recent achievement of the OHSAS 18001 certification to Physical Acoustics South America (PASA), the Latin American subsidiary of MISTRAS.
The OHSAS 18001 certification is an international specification given to companies with world-class safety and health management systems. It is used to promote a safe and healthy working environment by identifying and controlling its health and safety risks, reducing the potential for accidents, aiding legislative compliance and improving overall performance.

“OHSAS’s certification is a trademark in the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) sector. The third party accreditation gives a company a competitive edge in the market and for our customers, the accreditation provides an indication of a company’s qualification level, making it easier to choose a service provider,” said Pedro Feres, PASA’s President. “The success of our strategic plan is directly linked with the commitment and devotion of all of our employees and to them we dedicate our achievement.”

PASA’s OHSAS 18001 certification was accredited by INMETRO and was done in accordance with ISO 17020 regulations.
