Princeton Junction, NJ – February 2004 – MISTRAS Holdings Group is pleased to announce that NDT Automations ultrasonic tube inspection system: TubeScanTM, recently passed EPRI performance demonstration tests that were performed by sister company QSL-Plus. These Qualification tests were performed at the EPRI Charlotte, North Carolina facility using carbon steel tubing, 0.750 OD x 0.095 wall and the system was granted EPRIs Certificate of Qualification.
TubeScan is a fully automated Rotating-Mirror, Internal Tube Inspection System with encoded DC servo drives for mirror rotation and for probe insertion and retraction functions (during which, the test is performed). The encoded design permits true C-Scan data (as well as traditional B-Scan and A-Scan) to be acquired, analyzed and saved for future reference and review. Further with C-Scan capability and available mirror options, longitudinal or circumferential shear inspections (for wall cracking) can be performed. The system is capable of identifying either inner or outer wall corrosion, and is supplied as a “TurnKey” ultrasonic inspection system (the system includes all components needed to perform the inspection, analyze and save the data as well as prepare the final report (on either electronic or paper media).
